Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2/3 c. water
Preparation
    Sift together in mixing bowl the flour, baking powder and salt.
    With fork or pastry blender, cut into flour the shortening until well blended.
    Add water, stirring to make soft dough. Knead well for 5 minutes on lightly floured board or pastry cloth. Cover and let rest 30 minutes.
    Roll out 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured board or cloth.
    Cut into 3-inch squares or triangles.
    Fry in deep fat (375\u00b0) until lightly browned (2 to 3 minutes on each side).
