Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. orange juice
3/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs (unbeaten)
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Combine shortening and salt; add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Sift flour and baking powder 3 times.
Add small amount of flour to creamed mixture alternately with orange juice, beating until smooth.
Reserve some of the coconut for the frosting.
Ice with icing.
