Apple Sweet Potato Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 sweet potatoes or yams
2 apples
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
5 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. buttered crumbs
pecan or walnut halves
Preparation

Cook the potatoes in jackets until tender; peel and slice. Peel, core and grate the apples.
In a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole, place a layer of potatoes. Top with a layer of apples. Sprinkle with part of the sugar and nuts.
Dot with part of the butter; repeat layers.
Top with crumbs and arrange a few pecan or walnut halves over crumbs.
Cover and bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes. Remove cover and bake 5 to 10 minutes longer until crumbs are lightly browned.
