Zippy Bean Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained
    1 15 oz. can black beans, drained
    1 15 oz. can white beans, drained
    1 qt. fresh or canned tomatoes, chopped
    1 can chicken broth
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped mushrooms
    3 or 4 garlic cloves
    1/2 or 3/4 lb. chopped smoked sausage or beef
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. Italian seasoning
    1 tsp. salt, to taste
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 to 3/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
Preparation
    If using fresh tomatoes, cook with onions, mushrooms and garlic in 3 qt. saucepan until nearly tender.
    Add broth and beans with the chopped meat.
    Add seasonings and bring to a boil. Simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour covered.
    Makes 8 to 10 nice servings.
