Ingredients

8 c. all-purpose flour
4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. ginger
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
3 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
10 Tbsp. boiling water
Preparation

Sift flour, soda and salt.
Combine molasses, melted shortening and boiling water, then add dry ingredients.
Mix well and chill in refrigerator.
Either roll 1/4-inch thick, cut and sprinkle with sugar or use as drop cookies.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
