Very Best Light Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. butter or margarine or 1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. sugar
1 well beaten egg
1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. hot water
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses; mix well.
Add sifted dry ingredients together alternately with hot water. Bake immediately in 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan for 35 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
