Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt in saucepan the shortening.
    Take off the stove and add brown sugar.
    Set aside to cool.
    When cooled, add the egg, then blend in the flour, salt and baking powder.
    Stir in vanilla. Spread in a greased square 8-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
