French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion, chopped
    6 beef bouillon cubes
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
    4 slices dry toast
    2 c. grated Swiss cheese
    2 Tbsp. oleo or bacon grease
Preparation
    Fry bacon; set aside.
    Save 2 tablespoons of grease or use oleo to saute chopped onion.
    In a pot, bring 6 to 7 cups of water to boil.
    Dissolve bouillon and thicken with cornstarch.
    In six individual, ovensafe, 1-cup soup bowls, crumble toast, then bacon and top with half of the Swiss cheese.
    Pour liquid bouillon over dry ingredients and top with remaining half of cheese.
    Broil soups until cheese is melted on top.
    Serves 6.
