"Gumbo" - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger (lean)
    1 qt. tomatoes
    1 large onion
    1 pkg. frozen okra or 6 to 8 fresh pods
    1 c. rice
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    celery seed or other spices, if desired
Preparation
    Brown meat, adding cut up onion.
    While this is cooking, combine tomatoes, rice, sugar and okra (if frozen) in a bowl. This moistens rice and starts thawing of okra.
    When meat browns, drain any excess fat.
    Add vegetable-rice mixture, stir together, cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Add seasonings with veggies or halfway through simmering (celery seed or other spices could be added).
    Serve with bread.
    Better even the next day!
