Date Nut Pinwheels - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/4 c. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tsp. butter
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten well
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Filling:
Cook dates, sugar, water and butter until thick. Add nuts.
