Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. chopped walnuts
    3 lb. pitted dates, chopped
    4 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    6 eggs, beaten
    3 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Put the first 5 ingredients in large bowl, then pour 2 1/4 cups boiling water over and let stand 15 minutes while mixing the remaining ingredients.
    Mix with first mixture.
    Have 3 (3 x 9 x 5-inch) loaf pans ready, greased and lined with waxed paper.
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Peel off waxed paper at once.
    Let cool, then store in freezer.
    Best made 2 months before use. Avoid holiday rush!
