Persimmon Bread - cooking recipe

1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 c. persimmon pulp
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. dates (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add soda to persimmon pulp. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, then add soda and persimmon mixture. Add pecans. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or if using 2 small loaf pans, bake for 1 hour.
