Mrs. Wenzel'S Ikes Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. cocoa, dissolved in 1/2 c. boiled water
    3 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar well.
    Cool cocoa and water mix.
    Add egg yolks and vanilla to creamed mixture.
    Beat well.
    Add cooled cocoa.
    Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt.
    Add alternating with sour milk or buttermilk in 1/3's.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Turn batter into 2 greased and floured pans. Bake approximately 30 minutes in 375\u00b0 oven.
    Frost with my favorite buttercream frosting.
