Chocolate Filled Bonbons - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. Crisco
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped almonds or pecans (optional)
3 to 4 doz. chocolate kisses
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cream Crisco and sugars with electric mixer until fluffy.
Add egg and extract and beat well.
Add flour, baking powder, salt and nuts (optional).
Mix until blended.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Press each ball around a kiss (like chocolate covered cherry).
Bake 12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. (Do not overbake.)
Cool on wire racks.
Frost or decorate as desired.
Yields 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies.
