Cheese Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. cooking oil
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. basil (optional)
    2 c. milk
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Blend oil and flour and seasonings in heavy pan.
    Gradually stir in milk.
    Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Add cheese and stir well to help the melting.
    Serve over eggs or cooked vegetables of your choice.
    Makes about 2 cups.
