Grandma Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 c. milk (room temperature)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. shortening
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Add flour and milk alternately having added the baking powder to the last addition of flour.
    Last add flavoring.
    Use electric mixer.
    Pour into a round tube pan which has been greased thoroughly.
    Flour lightly and place in a cold oven.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Do not open door until time is up.
    Do not turn on oven until cake is in it.
