Grandma Jacobsens Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    chopped nuts (we used black walnuts)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar, beat well.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Blend in dry ingredients.
    Roll into two rolls, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate.
    Slice thin and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350\u00b0 on an ungreased sheet.
    They get better after a while.
