Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream
sugars, shortening, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Spoon flour into dry measuring cup.
Pour measured flour onto wax paper. Add
soda
and salt to flour.
Stir to blend.
Add dry ingredients to
creamed mixture, mix well.
Stir in chocolate bits and nuts.
Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Yields 6 to 7 dozen.
