Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Pour boiling water in oatmeal; set aside.
    Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time.
    Combine dry ingredients and stir into mixture.
    Add vanilla and oatmeal mixture.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
