Ingredients

1 c. blueberries
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
Preparation

Wash and drain blueberries.
Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
Cream shortening until soft.
Gradually beat in sugar, then egg and grated lemon rind.
Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating until smooth after each addition. Lightly fold in blueberries.
Drop from teaspoon on greased baking sheet.
Bake in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 12 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
