American Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground chuck, ground once
    1 large can tomatoes
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    1 can chow mein noodles
    salt and pepper to taste
    soy sauce
    1 c. rice, uncooked
    2 bell peppers, chopped
    2 large onions, chopped
    1 bud garlic, minced
Preparation
    Sear meat in heavy skillet in small pat of butter until lightly browned.
    Add rice and stir.
    Add tomatoes, cut through with knife. Add chopped peppers, onion, celery and garlic.
    Stir well, salt and pepper to taste and bring to boil.
    Turn heat to lowest flame and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
    Do not lift lid or stir during last cooking.
    Serve over chow mein noodles with soy sauce.
    Serves 8 or 10.
