Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. shortening
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. nuts
    3 mashed bananas
    1 Tbsp. milk
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    4 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1 1/4 c. milk
    butter for topping
    maple syrup for topping
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a medium bowl. Add eggs, butter and milk; beat until smooth and creamy; set aside.
    If using an electric skillet, preheat to 350\u00b0.
    Preheat lightly oiled griddle or skillet over medium heat until a few drops of water dance on the surface.
    For each pancake, pour 1/4 cup batter onto hot griddle and cook on first side until bubbles that form begin to pop and edges look dry.
    With a spatula, turn and cook until second side is a rich, golden brown.
    Serve at once with butter and syrup.
