Gem Jams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/3 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. oatmeal
    2 c. white flour
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and cream.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Put dabs of dough on pan, then some filling, then finish with a small dab of dough on top.
    Bake 10 minutes at 375\u00b0. Let cook on tray for 10 minutes.
    Makes about 4 dozen.
