Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk (reserve white)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add flour, vanilla and yolk.
Beat until thoroughly mixed.
Roll teaspoonful into balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with heel of hand.
Brush with whipped egg white.
Bake for 5 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Keep a close eye on these, do not let cookies get too brown!
