Ingredients

1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
4 oz. candied cherries
1 1/2 Tbsp. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 oz. candied pineapple
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. chopped pecans
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. flour
4 Tbsp. fruit juice
1 box (8 oz.) pitted dates, chopped
Preparation

Cream
together the sugar and butter.
Add beaten eggs. Dredge all
fruit
in part of the flour, about 1/2 cup.
Sift together remaining
flour,
soda
and spices.
Add to creamed mixture.
Add sweet
milk
and
juice
(juice from maraschino cherries is especially good).
However, additional milk may be substituted. Next,
add
dredged
fruit
and pecans.
Drop by teaspoon
on greased cookie sheet and bake in 300\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
