Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3 ripe bananas
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix shortening, egg and sugar well.
    Add bananas (mash them first) and flour and mix well.
    Add soda.
    Add nuts last if you are using them.
    Bake in well-greased and floured loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    (To make a large loaf, double the recipe.)
