Meadow Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    jelly
Preparation
    Lightly grease muffin cups with a little bit of fat.
    Add flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a bowl.
    Put shortening in small skillet.
    Heat until melted.
    Remove skillet from heat. Let cool slightly.
    Break egg into a small bowl.
    Beat with egg beater until smooth.
    Add milk.
    Add shortening.
    Make hollow in center of flour mixture.
    Add milk mixture.
    Stir only until dry ingredients are moistened.
    Fill cups half full.
    Add teaspoon jelly to each.
    Just cover with batter.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
