Nellie'S Butter Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 egg yolks
3/4 c. ice water
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. cake flour
1 scant tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites
Preparation

Beat egg yolks and water until bowl is full.
Add sugar and beat until dissolved.
Measure cake flour after sifting once.
Add baking powder and salt to flour and sift three times.
Beat flour into first mixture.
Add vanilla to mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff, fold into mixture.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0.
When cool, cut into squares.
Frost top and sides with frosting.
