Surprise Meringues - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chip pieces
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Beat egg
    whites,
    salt,
    cream
    of
    tartar and vanilla until soft
    peaks
    form.
    Add
    sugar
    gradually, beating until peaks hold
    their
    shape (don't underbeat).
    Fold in chocolate pieces and nuts.
    Cover cookie sheet with plain brown or white paper. Drop
    mixture
    by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the paper. Bake in slow
    oven
    (200\u00b0 or 250\u00b0) about 40 minutes.
    Let cool 10 minutes before removing from paper.
