Chess Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. coconut
1 Tbsp. butter
1/4 c. cornmeal
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream sugar, flour, meal and butter; add beaten eggs.
Beat and add milk, salt, coconut and flavoring.
Mix well.
Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 475\u00b0 until it begins to brown and then reduce heat to 300\u00b0 until set.
(Add pecans if desired.)
