Ingredients

1 c. margarine or butter
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Karo (light or dark) corn syrup
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 egg
4 c. unsifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix first 5 ingredients in food processor or with mixer at medium speed until smooth.
Gradually mix in flour and salt. Chill 1 hour.
On a floured surface roll out dough 1/3 at a time to 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes, place on cookie sheet and decorate as desired.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Remove from oven and cool on rack.
Makes about 7 dozen 2 inch cookies.
