Italian Meat Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sliced onion
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 to 3 lb. ground beef
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 (8 oz.) cans seasoned tomato sauce
    1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
    2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
    1/4 c. chopped parsley
    1 1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. m.s.g.
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Saute onion in olive oil in skillet until almost tender.
    Add ground beef and garlic; brown lightly, stirring until crumbly. Drain.
    Add tomato sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes, parsley, oregano, m.s.g., thyme, bay leaf and water; mix well.
    Simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Serve over hot cooked spaghetti with Parmesan cheese. Serves 6.
