Orange Rum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    4 egg yolks
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. melted butter
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
    1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. rum
    1/3 c. chopped walnuts
    whipped cream or ice cream (as garnish)
Preparation
    Grease tube pan; line bottom with greased wax paper.
    Beat 2 egg whites until fluffy, gradually adding 1/4 cup of the sugar. In a small bowl and using same beater, beat egg yolks with the other 1/4 cup sugar, then add to egg whites.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
    Fold into egg mixture; stir in melted butter and vanilla.
    Pour in pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
