Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 egg + 2 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream brown sugar and shortening; add the egg and yolks.
Beat well; add baking powder, salt and nuts to flour.
Add to creamed mixture.
Add vanilla.
Spread in greased pan (9 x 12-inch or larger).
Spread icing on top.
