Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. chopped nuts
    4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Cream brown sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, nuts and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar.
    Work (with hands) into first mixture.
    Form into rolls.
    Place in icebox.
    Slice thin and bake at 300\u00b0.
