Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. cornmeal
3/4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking flour
3/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg
about 1 1/2 c. milk (or enough for the right consistency)
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
Add egg and milk, beating until smooth.
Pour into a heated 10-inch iron skillet in which 2 tablespoons shortening (or less) has been melted.
Bake at 450\u00b0 until browned the way you like it.
If you want buttermilk cornbread, just add 1/4 teaspoon soda to the dry ingredients plus 1 1/2 cups buttermilk.
Delicious either way.
This is a longtime family favorite.
