3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco
1 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. large pecan pieces (optional)
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Combine butter flavor Crisco, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl.
Beat at medium speed with mixer until creamy.
Beat egg into mixture.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda and mix into creamed mixture until just blended.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecan pieces.
Drop rounded tablespoonful of dough 3-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
