Ingredients

1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. cold water
1 medium cucumber, pared and thinly sliced (about 1 1/4 c.)
1 c. thin sliced sweet Spanish or Bermuda onion
Preparation

In a shallow bowl, with a fork, beat together the salt, sugar, vinegar and water.
Mix in cucumbers and onion.
Cover and chill for 30 to 60 minutes.
Serve with a slotted spoon or drain before serving.
Save liquid in which to refrigerate any cucumbers and onion leftover.
