Ingredients

2/3 c. butter or oleo
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. anise seed
1 c. chopped almonds, blanched
1/2 tsp. anise flavoring
Preparation

Cream
butter
and
sugar;
add
eggs
and
seasonings. Combine with
flour, dry ingredients and nuts.
This is a soft dough.
Drop
enough
onto
a
floured board and roll into a 1 1/2-inch roll the length of your cookie sheet, usually 4 rolls to each
cookie
sheet.
Bake
at 325\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or slightly
golden.
Remove
from
oven and slice 1/2 inch wide. Lay sliced
side
down
on
cookie sheet and return to oven to brown for about 10 minutes.
