Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
dash of salt
4 eggs (room temperature), separated
2 c. milk
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
35 to 45 vanilla wafers
5 to 6 fully ripe bananas
Preparation

Combine sugar, salt and flour.
In another bowl, beat egg yolks with fork; add milk and vanilla.
Mix dry ingredients into milk mixture and cook over medium heat until it boils.
Let boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
In a 1 1/2-quart casserole, pour 1/3 pudding mixture and make a layer.
Add 1/3 bananas and 1/3 wafers. Repeat 2 more layers.
Spread with meringue over top and bake at 325\u00b0 for about 10 minutes or until brown.
