Beet Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 - no. 2 can sliced beets, about 2 cups (drain, reserve 1/4 cup liquid)
    1/2 cup vinegar
    2 tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. caraway seeds
    1 bay leaf
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Place beets in one quart bowl.
    Add mixture of remaining ingredients.
    toss lightly.
    Cover and refrigerate one or two days.
    turn beets occasionally.
    Serve beets with some of the marinade.
    Serves 4 or 5.
