My Grandma'S Thunder Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, separated (save whites)
1 c. cold water
1/3 c. pureed tomatoes
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1/2 c. dry cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream together at one time the vanilla, shortening and sugar. Blend in egg yolks. Beat whites until they are stiff, then fold in.
Mix dry mixture into cream mixture. Bake in 2 greased and floured round pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes. Frost with chocolate butter frosting. Top with strawberries.
