Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large, firm green tomatoes
    1 c. cornmeal (or flour)
    salt and pepper to taste
    bacon drippings or cooking oil
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes 1/4 inch thick.
    Season with salt and pepper. Coat with cornmeal.
    Add tomato slices to heated bacon drippings in skillet.
    Fry slowly, turning once.
