Beef Stew With Potato Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 lb. lean beef for stewing, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
    2 onions, peeled and sliced
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) beef broth, undiluted
    3/4 c. water
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    3 medium carrots, cut into 1/2-inch slices
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge meat in flour mixture. Cook meat and onions in bacon drippings until onions are tender and meat is browned.
    Stir in broth, water, vinegar and carrots. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
