Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening, then add egg yolks.
    Add flour, soda and baking powder alternately with buttermilk.
    Fold in egg whites (beaten) and vanilla.
    Bake in a loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done by testing.
