Hot Water Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
1 rounded Tbsp. Crisco
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 c. hot water

Preparation

Mix sugar, molasses and egg.
Add Crisco and flour; stir well. Add remaining ingredients.
Batter will be thin after adding in hot water.
Mix with a mixer for 1 to 2 minutes.
Bake in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan in a 300\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
