Graham Cracker Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter or shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. milk
    15 graham crackers, rolled fine (about 1 1/8 c.)
Preparation
    Sift flour, measure and resift 3 times with baking powder and salt.
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar gradually and beat until soft and smooth.
    Add vanilla and egg yolks one at a time and beat until fluffy and light.
    Add milk and flour mixture alternately, beginning and ending with the flour, and stir well after each addition.
    Fold in graham cracker crumbs and stiffly beaten egg whites alternately.
    Pour batter into two 8-inch layer pans with bottoms lined with thin plain paper and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven about 25 minutes or until frosting tests done.
    Good with peanut butter frosting.
