Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. cucumbers
    9 medium size onions
    3 qt. pink tomatoes
    2 heads cabbage
    3 to 4 green peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    1 1/2 Tbsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 c. sugar or 2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Sprinkle
    1/2
    cup salt over vegetables and let stand 4 to
    6 hours.
    Drain and wash.
    Then add black pepper, 1 tablespoon salt and sugar or vinegar.
    Then cook.
    Add mustard seed if liked.
