Orange Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cans (6 oz.) frozen orange juice
    1 1/2 c. candied mixed fruits
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. unsulphured molasses
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking soda
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. rolled oats
    walnuts chopped
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    6 c. all-purpose flour
    3 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Combine undiluted orange juice concentrate, rolled oats, fruit and nuts.
    Reserve.
    Cream together shortening and sugar.
    Add molasses and eggs, mix well.
    Sift together flour, salt, soda and spices.
    Stir into molasses mixture.
    Blend well.
    Turn into greased 24 x 14 x 2-inch pan or two 18 x 9-inch pans.
    Spread evenly.
    Bake 40 minutes at 325\u00b0.
    Frost with Orange Icing when cool.
    Cut into 3 x 1-inch bars.
    Decorate with candied cherries.
