Skillet Spaghetti - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1/3 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    4 c. water
    1/2 lb. spaghetti
    3/4 c. ketchup
    1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes
Preparation
    In large skillet, brown first four ingredients in shortening; add salt.
    Stir in water and bring to a boil.
    Add spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces.
    Cook uncovered 12 to 15 minutes; stir in tomatoes and ketchup.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
